Desperate Housewives Finale: Five Years Later
Desperate Housewives aired its finale last night, and, as always, left plenty of cliffhangers and the public wanting more! In the last few minutes of the two-hour finale, the episode flashed forward five years into the future, and there are plenty of head-scratching moments!
Here’s a recap, via Just Jared:
- Model-turned-mommy Gabby (Eva Longoria) appears to be raising two daughters. Juanita and Celia were seen playing with Gabby’s makeup and clothes.
- Bree (Marcia Cross) has a cookbook coming out and her son seems to be her agent. She and husband Orson are still together.
- Lynette (Felicity Huffman) is dealing with her juvenile delinquent sons.
- Katherine’s (Dana Delany) daughter Dylan is getting married.
- Susan (Teri Hatcher) has a new man in her life, played by Gale Harold.
WTF? Where’s Mike?! What did you think of the finale?

“WHAT THE HECK WHAT THE HECK WHAT THE HECK” were my exact thoughts. I can’t believe Susan’s with another guy!!! WHERE IS MIKE?!!! did he die? did he get back into drugs? did he leave her? did she leave him? AHHHHH.

That was the best cliffhanger I have ever seen!

I thought the finale was great except for the 5 years later portion - that was ridiculous. Is it the season finale or the SERIES finale? If it’s season I’m guessing the next should have a whole new cast…

Who in the world is susan kissing?!!? What happened to Mike?!?! I LIKE HIM!

Why are Gabby’s kids so ugly?! They definitely don’t look like the kids I ever imagined her having.
Oh you people are such SUCKERS. Did you forget that tihis is a soap opera?! I’d lay money on it still being Mike, but he’s had plastic surgery after an accident, HA!
That was THE WORST season finale!! I was sorely disappointed. If they take this show to the 5 years later mark next season they will lose at least one formerly fierly loyal desperate fan. Don’t ruin the show guys.
“It was Porter…the other one”. HA HA…I loved that…I knew Lynettes evil spawn were headed for Juvy!!! I loved how Bree’s son was her manager..that was sweet! This is the best DH cliffhanger ever! I had given up on DH for awhile, but this season was so delicious! I can’t wait to see what Edie has up her sleeve…I hope she returns, I read rumours she had gotten the boot! No-no-no I bet that was somebody’s dream….. Edie’s, Bree’s daughter, somebody who left the show for a short while and who’s return is going to blow us away this fall…. They wake up after a bad dream and has to return to Wisteria Lane….. Or maybe it’s what Carlos dreams he will see when before he has eye surgery or something…..

Kat - I don’t think they will zoom the series on 5 years, but probably show the events leading up to the things depicted!
Disappointing and again that the katherine mystery was revealed too soon with it being a short season like last year with Orson’s Monique story being revealed as Marcia Cross left early! This is kinda worrying as there’s meant to be 7 seasons of the street…if they carry on from 5 years ahead surely they’re limiting themselves??????
That guy she’s kissing is the dude who played Brian in Queer As Folk. Crazy times!

I mean, just how many murder/suicides/psychos would it take moving to Wisteria Lane (literally one right after another) before people wised up and moved away. By taking us 5 years later, it opens the doors for many more interesting stories, not only filling in the past, but now we have older characters who were too young to get a too interesting storyline. I say, thanks Marc. Cant wait until the next new episode!

OMG! i thought the finale was great! there has to be a 5th season! Nobody has asked but Where’s Edie!? why wasn’t she in the 5 years later, i know they dissowned her but c’mon did edie really go that easily?

firstly, may I just say that I am totally in love with KayMay (Katherine Mayfair), and her ending is just fine with me
BUT, Gaby has LET HERSELF GO. That’s just not right! And Greg, I’m totally with you, Gaby would never have fat ugly kids!

I have to agree with Kat. I absolutely HATED the 5 years later part. Turning Gabby into a worn out housewife and Susan without Mike will kill the show for me. That alone will make me stop watching the show. There is plenty of great shows out there. If they ruin Desperate Housewives like that I am going to leave it. It was the WORST season finale and it will really piss me off if they keep with this story line.
MY OH MY… I enjoyed the last two episodes of DH and how Katherine became ‘one of them”. In the beginning they made Katherine look so bad but she kept surprising us with her perfectly acceptable personality, and acceptable she was! I’m sooooo glada Kayla got the boot! That child was EVIL! Evil! Evil! And I was kind of happy how Edie got her ending, she deserved it. I hope to see her back again though.
…BUT, WHAT WAS THE 5 YEARS THING LATER ALL ABOUT?!?! It was horrible! Gabrielle with children? That don’t even look like her? The one child looks older than five anyway! And her down to earth, I don’t wear designer clothes anymore persona? Susan with a new guy? I could go on but it was a bit too much to take in too soon. I’m glad Bree is still with Ausin. I really hope they don’t start the next season like that. I hope it’s all a joke or they show every single detail as to how it got there and I hope it takes a whole lot of seasonns to get there too! It was kind of a spoiler for me. I am trusting they will do a good job like they always have, however if they don’t, Desperate housewives will be over for good - And we don’t want that do we?
This show goes out of their way to flaunt the sexy/attractiveness of the women on it. They wear semi-formal dresses to the grocery store. There is no way that a) they are going to pick up five years from now when all the women are old and worn out looking like they were in the preview or b) look all frumpy like Gabrielle. All I can figure is that’s just some strange dream or joke.
OMG!.. why did they do that , they are totally ruining the shoow !!.. i was like susann with another man .. lynettes’ sons rebels .. gaby with those ugly girls.. if that isn’t someone dream .. it suckss!!!!!!!!! someone really need to tell them that will take away alot of audience .. it will happen like in the OC .. marissa cooper died .. the show ended!.. plisss dooon’tt .. it is such a good show

I live in LA area and work in the business. I am told that Nicolette Sheridans character comes sneaks back into town and systematically kills all the housewives on the show out of revenge.
i’m going with the dream theory. throwing us in to five years in the future, especially when mike and susan JUST HAD THE BABY, is ridiculous. not to mention, gabby kept the money, and bree and orson are still having problems.
i’m totally dying to see the next season now, though, so they accomplished that much.
but i really don’t think it’s REALLY going to be five years in the future. i swear, if mike and susan don’t end up together after ALL THESE YEARS, i’ll be PISSED!

i also think it was a crazy dream of Susan’s but she wakes up to her junkie husband and wishes she had that prince charming in her dream , but i do LOVE mike i hope this was a dream!!!!!!!!!
