CSI Miami Season Finale: Horatio Caine NOT Dead (Video Evidence)
CSI: Miami’s season finale, “Going Ballistic,” has many viewers wondering if Horatio Caine is dead. It would appear so, but this is Hollywood my friends, and things aren’t always as they seem.
In a behind-the-scenes interview actor David Caruso, who plays Horatio Caine on the show, explains what happens in the finale.
“Horatio designed a staging of an event that will free him up to go after this man with a different license,” Caruso explains.
So it seems Ryan Wolfe is in on the “setup” which would explain the text message he received.

Its a set-up. Horatio texts Ryan Wolf the “It’s Done” message(just before he drops like a turd) to get the sting afloat for next season. Nice twitchy finger acting though. Heh.heh.heh.
I just read at the top of this comment screen that David Caruso, explains in an interview what really happened in the finale.
Supposidly, he was the master mind behind the shooting and Ryan Wolfe (the actor that checked his cell phone at the end) was also in on it. Why? Because Horatio wants to go after Ron - his son’s new stepfather that is planning further danger and problems for the son and mother.
Since Horatio wanted the son and mother to meet him at 5 P.M., they may have boarded the plane - …Remember the exchange of threatening words between Horatio and Ron? ….Horatio told him he wouldn’t live to see Father’s Day……….but then…who shot him???? And why did the son handle a loaded gun????
I am thinking and hoping that it is camera magic and it is just a dummy dressed up like him to take the bullet. Horatio Caine makes the show. He has my vote with that beautiful red hair!!! He is so cool with the glasses and all. Please do not end his character!!! He is too important to the show!! I love this show almost as good as America’s Most wanted!! I can not miss John Walsh either!!

I really think it sucks that h got shot .I truly believe he’s not dead and when he comes back and finds out wolfe had something to do with it, I hope he does what he does best. If he dies I will stop seeing CSI forever!!!!! You need to get some better writers!!!!!!!!!!! Its not right that we have to wait until fall to see the continuation. What are we suppose to do watch reruns all summer?????? First Warrick, now H,who’s next?????????

Obviously Caine fakes his death to kill his Son´s stepfahter, in a private manhunt like in Brazil(previous series), Wolf is in it too( hence the Short Message). It´s going to be a long summer without the Three CSI series…

Horatio Caine is the best. That was cruel to end the season that way. But we don’t believe that he is dead. He just can’t be. He is the one that make the show. We love Callie too. She is awesome. And if Ryan had something do with him getting shot we hope the Horatio nails him hard, along with Ron. And gets his son and out of harms way. Hurry up guys get this next season out. We are going nuts not being able to find out what is going on!!!!!!

Its obvious Horatios not dead. The number one evidence is , when he’s shot, where is the blood? In all the other episodes, when someone is shot there’s a giant pool of blood. Plus you can’t see any bullet holes. So he’s is definitly alive.

If he dies….who will look after his sunglasses? The original CSI is a much superior product. Thie Miami version is the most ridiculous show I have ever watched. It is about as real as a plastic walnut. The acting and storylines are over the top. It’s like watching a cartoon….only not as good.

as for the confusion with the glasses…he wasnt wearing them when he got shot. he was holding them at his side which explains the bullet hole.
Also, if you check wikipedia, there IS a schedualed season 7, the first episode airing September 22nd, 2008.
Look… i think that the bullet bounced into te car’s glass light (looks like), and… he doesnt bleed and had no bullet hole on his jacket. He knew he was going to get shot, so better look like dead to do some bad things (like brazil) with Ron and to protect his son.
I dont have the last word, i just would love it to be that way.

OMG!!! My mistake…
I just watched the last 5 minutes on YOUTUBE, and there are some things you should watch too.
When they get the guy who makes the titanium bullets, he tell H that he will die, and H lies and says “TAKE HIM” after that H tells a “secret” to him (maybe something like his plan) and the guy got worried. (Min 1:20 and 4:08 at the video on YOUTUBE)
When he was out the plain, he toke his phone and “SENT A MESSAGE” (min. 3.14 at the video on YOUTUBE) I think he sent it to wolfy about “ITS DONE” or they are in the plain safe.
When H falls with a shot, his glasses are intact (min. 3:50 at the video on YOUTUBE) but he doesnt bleed and there is no hole in his cloth (min. 4:11 at the video on YOUTUBE).
Wolf wouldn’t use his personal phone to get a message about the H’s death, it would be tracked we know that.
At 5:15 min at the video on YOUTUBE shows H’s glasses with a hole but… WHAT THE HELL they were intact before… an error???? or what????

First they tried to kill my baby daddy Adam Rodriguez (ERIC DELKO) now, they went for Master Yoga (Horatio Caine) - I mean this is insane - i will stop watching CSI MIAMI if they kill him - now if Ryan has anything to do with this i will be extremely disappointed. But if he really does, then i cant wait for Eric to get his hands on him. It will be a historic episode.
Come on…. Think about it people! First, H is the only reason the Ryan is even working at the crime lab. Horatio hired him and helped get him back to “reinstatement” status. Wolfe did lie to Horatio in an earlier episode. However, Ryan came clean and did apologize for the dishonesty. He did not kill H, or have anything to do with the supposed death of Horatio Caine. Should Ryan have had anything to do with the “death” of Horatio Caine he most certainly helped with the staging aspects of said occurance.
As for the afore mentioned “sinister look” on Ryan Wolfe’s face at the end of “Going Ballistic”, did anyone else read an emotion other than the “sinistry”? I deteceted a hint of a some-what depressed (I know that isn’t the best word for the description of the emotion per se, however it is close.) or unhappy ( perhaps a better term) look in his eyes…
As another point, why would Ryan say that he would explain his “I just realized that I’m late for something” to Calleigh? If he had indeed planned the murder of H he would not have told Calliegh that he would explain things later. Ryan is no idiot. He’s OCD, which further proves to mean that everything he does has reason behind it (usually good, but not always in the case of his dishonesty to H in a prior episode).
At any rate, Horatio Caine is not dead, and will not be dead. Ryan Wolfe is simply the man that H chose to be his confidant.

They wouldn’t kill the main character of any hit TV show off because it gives the audience total uncertainty about the rest of the characters future, and it would just kill the show! There’s no way that Horatio is dead, unless the writers of CSI Miami are thinking of ending the show which I would find extremely unlikely!

I am totally disappointed that Horatio isn’t dead. I should have known… he would have died with much more tears and a cheesy comment or two. Oh well.
I always used to like Caruso, but he’s really just stagnated in the role of Horatio. He has become a comic figure. I still enjoy the rest of the cast and the stories are good, I just cannot take Horatio w/his sunglasses and one-liners seriously. At this point I think he’s holding the show back.

I’ve watched all the three CSIs: Miami, Las Vegas and NY. But my husband likes only Miami and he calls Horatio “Red”. The last episode with H’s murder was shown here in Russia only a week ago, so I was desperate before I found this site. And my husband told me he doesn’t believe in this death at all. So he was right! I hope they’ll translate the 7th season as soon as it’s shown in the USA. We want H back too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually a few TV shows have killed of main characters. Just look to 24, Dexter, OZ, Angel, Heroes, and many others. So its possible H. is dead, but not likely.

I will not watch CSI Miami again either. Well, if David Caruso’s character ISN’T dead, I sure hope David takes some time off to get some acting lessons. He used to be good in NYPD Blue, but in CSI Miami he’s really become a stiff, arrogant mannequin spewing one-liners, like Jack Lord from “Hawaii 5-0.”

could you guys please bribg back marisol horito’s wife, a great way to bring her back is to say that she was somehere getting better because we the viewer did not really see her body put in the coffin. you could say that horatio was hiding her for safety reason. What is everyone talking about???? When I just saw the teaser about whether he is dead or not I got so excited! I haven’t watched CSI Miami because David C is such a horrible actor. He is like watching a bad high school Shakespeare play with his gestures and pauses. I really love watching CSI and I hope that he dont die in that show because the show wouldnt be the same with out the regular actors when they take them off the shows it really dont seem right when they are gone a good show is to have the same actors on it all the time . All of the actors on csi miami are excellent actors and my whole family watches the show I wish them good luck in the new season 7 and I say keep up the good work

When the daughter of Delko’s therapist is murdered, Horatio and the CSI team must find the killer before Delko’s darkest secrets are exposed.

The end of season 6 left a few questoins unanswered (and probably will be answered in #7):
a) Who gave Kyle a gun and why does he have it?
b) What was Julia’s so-important errand before the flight?
c) Why does she tell Kyle to stay off the phone while she’s out?
Julia dislikes Horatio and has already proven that she’s a menace to him. Kyle, unfortunately, is caught in the middle. Horatio wants what is best for his son; I’m not sure what Julia wants for her son–except to be kept away from Horatio.
I think that Ryan is helping Horatio. H wouldn’t do something like this without telling at least ONE team member what was going on (reference “Rio” and “Going Ballistic”).
In the last episode, Ryan and Calleigh are questioning a man who’s just shot someone H had arrested for murder. Ryan gets a cellphone call from someone–we don’t know and aren’t told who–and leaves. All Ryan tells Calleigh is that he’d explain things later.
So,….tonight we find out who’s doing what–and I think that Ron Saris may very well wish he’d never met Horatio!
I hate Horatio, he sucks as an actor. I wish they would kill him off. Then maybe I would watch the show again.

When I saw that last episode of CSI MIAMI season 8 I think. The last one that has come out on DVD. I was so shocked that my mouth dropped to the floor. I was like, ” Oh My God!!!!” With my hands covering my mouth and I just stared at the screne. I was like, “Oh my God is Wolfe in on his killing?” I told myself that there was no way that it was going to end like this, so I knew that there was going to be another season, but I was suspicious that WOlfe was in on it. I didn’t think that he was and I thought that Cane had staged this for some reason but didn’t know why. Man CSI MIAMI just gets better and better in my book and I can’t wait to watch it this season. It definalty caught my eye and makes me beg for more.
Actually Matt there was blood coming from under him and a big pool of it. Go watch it again and watch it close. When the camera is above him, you will see blood pooling below him. He isn’t dead though. He came up with a great scheme to go kill Ron. Yeah the show is not the show with out H. Eric Delco is hot so they better not take him off the show. It almost made me cry when I thought he was going to die. I was shocked at first with H “thinking that he was going to get killed” but I knew it had to be a set up and Wolfe was in on it.

It obviously hasn’t occured to those who ‘hate Horatio’ and think the Caruso is a bad actor that perhaps what you don’t like about his character is what actually makes his character likeable to other people.
The pauses and the hesitations aren’t a matter of bad acting. They’re a matter of character. Anyone who can’t manage to work that out, in my opinion, doesn’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to making any kind of judgement about acting skill.
It Horatio Caine’s manner, portrayed by Caruso’s acting, that make his character so intriguing. Of all the characters in the CSIs I’ve watched, he is the most challenging one to read.
uk tv have aired the season finale this week. at long last. no way can they kill off the god known as H. i only hope that it is a set up & that we get to see the great H in action. i know its only a tv show & there are far more important things in the real world but, hey, we all got to have some form of escapism havent we?

When I was watching the introductions of the new serie and saw Horatio been put inside the black plastic bag, I thought to myself: shit !!! The CSI Miami is over.
No one can beat Caruso on that position. He’s a monster and congrats to the one that has invited him to join the cast. Hope Wolf is just playing an EFX game with Horatio in order to achive an commum objective, and can not involve others on the issue.

I was shocked when Horatio was shot. I am so releived to know that he staged his death so he could go after the bad guy. whew!
I saw this episode and was somewhat shocked! I have been thinking that it is some sort of set up, with Ryan (”It’s Done”) in on it. Were blanks fired at Horatio?
I think that Horatio doesn’t die hes just faking it so that the killer would leave him alone. you know why?! it was a set-up Horatio knew someone was after him and Wolfe was in it too.He got a text saying it’s done. Thank Goodness there’s a season 8 so we know for sure.
i think csi maimi is all right– quite like a bollywood movie…i like the other two better
