Original Mr. Clean, House Peters Jr. Dies at 92

The actor that played the original Mr. Clean in TV commercials, House Peters Jr., died of pneumonia Wednesday at the Motion Picture and Television Fund Hospital in Los Angeles.

The 92-year-old actor became best known in the 50’s and 60’s for playing the household cleaning product’s bald muscular hoop-earing clad spokesperson.

He also played many supporting roles and appeared in “Perry Mason,” “Gunsmoke,” “The Twilight Zone” and “Lassie.”
