Despite claiming she was broke, actress Anne Heche reached a settlement yesterday in her divorce from Coley Laffoon. Court papers show that she agreed to pay her ex-husband a $275,000 lump sum and $3,700 per month in child support for their 6-year-old son.
The agreement marks a sharp reduction in the temporary $15,000-a-month support that the Men in Trees stars had been paying – but said she could no longer afford because she was out of work.
Under the settlement, Heche, 38, also will pay 75 percent of son Homer’s private school tuition and half of “agreed-upon extracurricular activities” for the boy, according to L.A. Superior Court papers.
Laffoon, 34, filed for divorce in February 2007, and the fight quickly became nasty, with Heche portraying Laffoon as a deadbeat who watches porn and frequents strip clubs, and Laffoon calling Heche mentally unstable.
Sounds nasty! Doesn’t Anne Heche think she talks to aliens or something? Mentally unstable can’t be too far off.

George Clooney and Sarah Larson have called it quits after a year of dating.
“George is relieved to be single again.” according to an insider. “He thinks Sarah is sweet and that is why it was so hard to break up with her.”
The 47-year-old actor met 29-year-old Larson when she was a cocktail waitress at The Whiskey Bar nearly four years ago, however the couple didn’t start dating until their second meeting in June 2007 in Las Vegas.
According to the insider, the couple’s different backgrounds created a strain on the relationship. “The truth is that they had little in common and he just doesn’t want to be tied down.”
A friend of Sarah’s says George moved out of his Los Angeles home while she removed her belongings.
Clooney’s rep declined to comment on the split.

Actor Dylan McDermott has filed for divorce from his wife of 13 years, Shiva Rose. The court documents cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
46-year-old McDermott and 39-year-old Rose were married in 1995 and separated in March 2007. The couple has two daughters, Collette, 12, and Charlotte, 2. McDermott is seeking joint custody of the children.
Best known for his role as an attorney on the television show The Practice, McDermott will be representing himself in the divorce.

After 14 years of marriage, Shania Twain and her husband, Robert “Mutt” Lange, have decided to call it quits.
Even after reports surfaced of a troubled marriage in 2000 the couple stuck together but seemed to stay out of the public eye.
In 2002, Twain, released a statement saying, “Our love has always been based on friendship and compatibility,” but also admitting, “we are very different.”
Spokesman Jason Owen says, “This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”

It’s been a bad week for Jessica Simpson. First the photos of former beau John Mayer, the guy who broke her heart, getting cozy with actress Jennifer Aniston were splashed all over the tabloids. Then reports that boyfriend Tony Romo was overheard telling friends he was single again while partying in Chicago on Saturday.
It’s enough to drive a girl to drink. Apparently Jess did just that. Us Weekly is reporting that the 27-year-old singer began tossing back cocktails Saturday at 4pm with pal CaCee Cobb and Cobb’s boyfriend Donald Faison at L.A.’s Mexicali Cocina Cantina. After binge drinking for four hours, Jessica was so out of it that she had to leave her Range Rover parked in the restaurant’s parking lot and call her mom Tina for a ride home. (Did we mention CaCee Cobb threw up under the table?)
Now The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the rumors that Simpson and Romo have split are, indeed, true. Staff writer Alan Peppard claims “two people close to Tony and Jess have told me that the glam couple is over, kaput, splitsville, put a fork in it,” although he refuses to name names.
Although the writing certainly appears to be on the wall, until Jessica or Tony confirms the breakup, anything is possible.

All good things come to those who wait, and now after a two year custody battle against ex-wife, Denise Richards, Charlie Sheen gets everything he asked for to begin with and the court settled 100% in his favor.
“We’ve always stood by the reality that the truth will prevail,” Charlie told Extra in a previous interview.
Sheen also broke news that he and fiancee Brooke Mueller will be getting married this summer.
