Ruben Studdard of American Idol fame got hitched to his fiancé, Surata Zuri McCants, in Alabama this weekend, according to OK! Magazine.
The couple had a black-and-white themed ceremony at the Canterbury United Methodist Church in Mountain Brook, Alabama,with 200 guests in attendance.

Ruben, 29, and his groomsman all wore Joseph Abboud, OK! reports, adding that “Idol”’s season two champ (a.k.a. “The Velvet Teddy Bear”) told The Birmingham News that he met his bride Surata, 30, while signing copies of his CD at an Atlanta-area Wal-Mart.

“We started talking, and she was telling me about her friend. But I just looked at her and thought, ‘She is so beautiful,’” he said, continuing: “God has given me a beautiful wife. I am looking forward to having fun with her and enjoying all the blessings that have come my way so far.”

Kimora Lee Simmons and her beau, Djimon Honsou , are “kind of” engaged, according to Kimora and People Magazine.

People asked Kimora if she was engaged to Honsou. She replied, “kind of.” How does one “kind of” become engaged? They also asked her if he’s given her an engagement ring, and her answer was, “Well, kind of, not quite.” I can almost understand being “kind of’ engaged, but how do you ‘kind of’ have a ring?

Either you have a ring, or you don’t! Does this mean Kimora bought her own ring, anticipating the day Djimon might want to pop the question and she can just say, “here honey, I’ve already picked it out for you!”?

It’s being reported that Bachelor Matt Grant and winner fiancée Shayne Lamas are no longer living together. However, Grant insists that despite not living together, they are still happily engaged.

“I had to get my own life out here (in L.A.),” says Grant. “Get my career and friends and have my own circle. That’s important in a relationship. That you are not entirely on top of someone.”

The couple has been dogged by rumors of discord since their televised engagement, however, Grant says that they are doing well and that living together was always meant to be “a stop-gap.”

“Early on in the relationship, people need a little space,” says Grant. “It’s almost to keep the spark — the romance — that exists in the first year of a relationship. Living together after knowing one another after four months is probably a little bit quick. Certainly for our generation.”

Do you think that these two will last much longer? They seemed so sweet on the show, but you can never tell how much is done for TV and how much is real life?

Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima is newly engaged to her basketball star boyfriend, Marko Jaric. Jaric proposed Thursday night, on her birthday.

“He asked and she said yes. They are both incredibly happy and couldn’t be more in love,” says publicist James Weir.

Lima, who turned 27 on Thursday, and Jaric, 29, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, have been dating for about nine months.

The normally stoic Serb sports star has admitted he fell hard for the Victoria’s Secret beauty.

“I was not the person to fall in love easily. I am a difficult person from that standpoint,” he told PEOPLE in March. “Now, it’s a little different situation.”

Country music star Chris Cagle and his girlfriend Jennifer Tant are being held in jail in Nashville on domestic assault charges following a drunken fight at the couple’s home.

Cagle and his girlfriend got into an argument after leaving a bar in the Bellevue community, west of Nashville. The argument escalated to physical violence once they arrived home.

After arriving at Cagle’s house, officers determined that Cagle and Taut appeared to be intoxicated and that both showed signs of physical abuse. According to a police affidavit, Cagle had a bump on his head caused by Taut hitting him with an umbrella, and Taut had a scrape on her lip and a sore arm from Cagle hitting her with her purse. According to the television station, the couple refused to leave the house, and Taut told police she would rather go to jail than leave Cagle’s home.

Cagle and Taut were arrested and taken into custody under Tennessee state domestic violence laws that considered both of them to be a primary aggressor. The law also mandates that both of them remain in jail until 4:40 p.m. Wednesday. Bond has been set at $1,500 each.

Cagle is also facing trial stemming from a misdemeanor assault charge involving an altercation outside a Tuscon, AZ nightclub on December 13.

Kaycee Stroh, who plays Martha Cox in Disney’s High School Musical franchise, announced her engagement to boyfriend, Ben Higginson last weekend.

“We shot from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., and Ben was waiting for me in my trailer,” Stroh says. “He was waiting for me with a single red rose. Then he took me up to the H Rock, a place at the top of a little mountain that overlooks Salt Lake City, and we watched the sunrise. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”

Stroh is currently shooting the third installment of HSM with Zach Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Monique Coleman, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel. None of her costars are aware of the news yet.

Higginson owns a production company in Salt Lake City, UT. The couple met at a concert 2007. They plan on getting married in late 2008.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren were quietly married in a no-frills ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse on Monday.

Arriving at the courthouse around 11:30 a.m., they were dressed casually, with Alba in a long blue dress with her hair pulled back in a ponytail, and Warren in a white shirt and brown pants.

After applying for a marriage license, the couple waited approximately 40 minutes before a staff member performed the ceremony.

A source tells People magazine that no one else attended the wedding. Even Jessica’s brother, Josh Alba, was caught off-guard when reached by Us Weekly magazine with the news. Josh responded: “My sister!? I’m going to have to call her!”

The 27-year old actress and 31-year-old producer were engaged in December after Alba announced she is expecting the couple’s first child.

The pair met on the set of The Fantastic Four in 2004.

This is a perfect opportunity for me to say congrats to my daughter Lauren, who also writes for this site (Lala). She and her fiance, Wiley Adams, were married on Friday in a no-frills ceremony at the local courthouse also. A more lavish ceremony is planned prior to Wiley’s return to Iraq.

Ironically she is often told she resembles Jessica Alba.

Ellen Degeneres announced on her show yesterday that now that the California Supreme Court overturned the ban on gay marriage, she is ready to wed long-time girlfriend Portia de Rossi.

Ellen told the Advocate:

“I’m thrilled that the California supreme court overturned the ban on gay marriage. I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote.

P.S. I’m registered at Crate & Barrel.”

Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty were photographed kissing outside her house last night. Was it just a friendly peck, or have my assumptions finally become true?

I always knew that Amy and Pete were made for each other! Hopefully they’ve finally realized it, too! They would be the best couple ever. Ever! As long as they never made babies!

Vanessa Hudgens and her girlfriend boyfriend Zac Efron were caught kissing this weekend while watching the L.A. Lakers play the Utah Jazz during overtime of Game 4 of the NBA basketball Western Conference semifinal series in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Zanessa was seen holding their hands to their hearts during the Star Spangled Banner. Vanessa was also seen resting her head on Zac’s shoulder and Zac had his hand around his leading lady most of the game, as well. The Jazz beat the Lakers 123-115.

Aww, I just can’t decide if this is adorable or gag-inducing! Vanessa is very pretty, and Zac is pretty, but something about the two of them together just seems a little off. Still, they’re a cuter couple than Heidi and Spencer!
