PETA is mad at Jessica Simpson for wearing a shirt that says “Real Girls Eat Meat”, which some think was an attack against Carrie Underwood, a known vegetarian.

PETA released this statement:

For a gal who’s best known for her less-than-stellar brains (Chicken of the Sea, anyone?) and her ability to proportionately fill out daisy dukes, I’m gonna go on record saying that if anyone had to wear a ridiculous shirt like this, I’m glad it was Jessica—as people are more likely to follow the opposite of her lead … ya know, since she’s so well respected and all (yes, that was difficult to type without tossing in a hefty LOL). Maybe the meat-eaters of the world will be embarrassed to be categorized in the same field as Jessica Simpson.

Peta also made a list of why “stupid girls brag about eating meat“:

1. Meat increases the risk of breast cancer
2. Real girls don’t support animal abuse
3. The meat industry is destroying the Earth
4. Meat will make you fat
5. Eating meat steals food from starving kids

I thought the first statement was really funny, but the list of reasons is kind of ridiculous. What do you think?

It’s been a bad week for Jessica Simpson. First the photos of former beau John Mayer, the guy who broke her heart, getting cozy with actress Jennifer Aniston were splashed all over the tabloids. Then reports that boyfriend Tony Romo was overheard telling friends he was single again while partying in Chicago on Saturday.

It’s enough to drive a girl to drink. Apparently Jess did just that. Us Weekly is reporting that the 27-year-old singer began tossing back cocktails Saturday at 4pm with pal CaCee Cobb and Cobb’s boyfriend Donald Faison at L.A.’s Mexicali Cocina Cantina. After binge drinking for four hours, Jessica was so out of it that she had to leave her Range Rover parked in the restaurant’s parking lot and call her mom Tina for a ride home. (Did we mention CaCee Cobb threw up under the table?)

Now The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the rumors that Simpson and Romo have split are, indeed, true. Staff writer Alan Peppard claims “two people close to Tony and Jess have told me that the glam couple is over, kaput, splitsville, put a fork in it,” although he refuses to name names.

Although the writing certainly appears to be on the wall, until Jessica or Tony confirms the breakup, anything is possible.

Jessica Simpson is not using her celebrity status to get special treatment while in Kuwait. Her rep denies reports that she has any of the comforts from home while overseas.

There were claims that the singer flew on a private jet with entourage in check and had no intentions of staying the night in the army barracks.

Simpson’s rep tells People magazine, “She flew commercially, she is staying in the barracks. “She’s been with the troops all day. She’s had her meals with them. She’s not with Ken Paves. She has significantly scaled back her entourage. This was done purely to support the troops and entertain them.”

Jessica Simpson, 27, has just purchased a luxurious top floor suite inside the new Palms Place resort, located next to the Palms Palace Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The pop star has been interested in the 1,200 foot, one bedroom suite since she was with ex-hubby, Nick Lachey.

A friend of Jessica’s says, “It was originally supposed to be for both of them, but then she decided to just get a smaller unit for herself.”

The luxe new digs, ranging from $500,000 to $7 million, offers a two-story Drift Spa and Simon at Palms Palace, a restaurant and lounge by celeb chef Kerry Simon, and features the following:

Hardwood and marble flooring
9-foot ceilings
State-of-the-art kitchen
Twin 42″ plasma televisions
King-sized bed with additional queen sleeper sofa
Italian bedding by Mateo
Multiple balconies
Living room with fireplace
Laundry closet with washer and dryer

And if all that’s not enough, the star can go to the spa, tan, swim in the 50,000 square-foot pool or order from the 24-hour room service menu and its got a great view of the strip.

“We are thrilled that Jessica is among the first to purchase at Palms Place. We’ve created a resort atmosphere unlike anything on or off the Las Vegas Strip,” George Maloof, owner of the Palms Place, states.

Even though we all know Jessica Simpson is not the brightest crayon in the box, you have to admit she knows how to carry a tune. But can she transition from ditsy pop princess to country music star? According to a source, boyfriend Tony Romo doesn’t quite think so.

Tony thinks Jessica can’t compete with country singer and ex-girlfriend, Carrie Underwood. A friend tells OK! magazine “Tony said he thought Jess would have trouble winning over audiences with her upcoming country CD.”

It really hurt her feelings…duh! “She tried to laugh it off in Hawaii (Tony was playing in the Pro Bowl), but she pouted whenever she heard Carrie’s songs playing,” the friend told the magazine.

Ouch!

Jessica Simpson is ready to travel overseas once again to entertain our men in uniform, performing songs from her new country album.

Jessica broke the news on a fan site that she will be heading to Kuwait for a March 10th concert:

“Hey ya’ll. I just wanted to say hi, and let you know that I am hard at work on my country record, and I can’t wait to share it will all of you. I am heading to Kuwait to do a show for the troops, then back in the studio. I love you all and am so blessed by the support and love you show me everyday!! xoxo jess”
