In response, Poland’s right-wing Law and Justice party has taken offense to the suggestion that the border crisis and the visa corruption scandal are connected. There are speculations that Warsaw might consider “sealing” the border with Germany to discourage migrants from attempting to enter Poland.
While the Czech Republic has announced its cooperation with Germany on the border checks, no agreement has been reached with Poland. The imposition of spot checks could potentially escalate tensions between the two countries.
