“Twitter Apps Update: Say Goodbye to the Blue Bird Logo”
In a surprising move, Twitter has announced significant changes to its branding and app design. The social media giant is rolling out updates that will soon replace the well-known blue bird logo with a completely new icon. As part of this renovation, Twitter apps will also be referred to as “X” instead.
While the aim is to give a fresh, modern look to the platform, there are already murmurs of discontent among some users who prefer the previous logo. These individuals long for a way to switch back to the old icon, and fortunately, there is a solution.
Users who are determined to maintain the connection to the past can rely on an iOS app called Shortcuts. This app comes pre-installed on newer iPhones, but can also be downloaded from the App Store for older devices. However, it is important to note that only iPhones running iOS 12.0 or higher will be able to utilize this feature.
To change the icon back to Twitter, users must open the Shortcuts app and navigate to the “All Shortcuts” section. From there, they can set up a new Shortcut by tapping the blue plus sign. The suggested action for this task is “Open App,” which should be selected. After that, the X app must be searched for and chosen.
Finally, by tapping the share icon within the Shortcuts app, users can select “Add to Home Screen.” This step allows for customization of the name and icon for the shortcut. By typing in “Twitter” and uploading an image of the Twitter logo, users can restore the familiar look and feel they desire.
This workaround gives users the illusion that Twitter is still under the control of a different billionaire, and they can distance themselves from the icon that may resemble a pornographic app.
Congratulations to those who succeed in changing the icon back to Twitter! It may not be a permanent fix, but it will undoubtedly provide some comfort and nostalgia amidst an ever-changing social media landscape.
